Fresh particulars have surfaced regarding the shocking passing of acclaimed film director Rob Reiner and visual artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were found at their Brentwood, Los Angeles residence on Sunday.

A Alarm

As detailed in an account quoting a confidential source, a therapist scheduled for an appointment initially became concerned after not being able to enter the residence. The therapist then contacted the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides close by.

Upon entering the residence, Romy came upon her father's body. It is said she then fled the house in anguish, not realizing at that moment that her mother's body was also inside. Her roommate who had accompanied her contacted 911. Following this, first responders located Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Criminal Developments

The police have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of first-degree murder, as well as the charge related to a weapon, said to be a knife. He is now detained and is ineligible for bail.

Disputed Reports

The confidential informant also disputed several previously reported details. The source indicated that while Romy Reiner informed emergency responders that her brother Nick lived in a detached unit on the grounds, she did not name him as a potential suspect at that moment.

The source also refuted published notions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been especially "apprehensive" about Nick's conduct in the weeks leading up to the incident. Instead the family was "used to working through [Nick's] problems together."

Per law enforcement sources, the coroner had yet to determine as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died on Saturday evening or on Sunday. Some accounts suggested the condition of their bodies implied they had been dead for a number of hours.

Nick Reiner was arrested at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park, roughly 15 miles from the residence. He was due to appear in court on Tuesday, but his attorney, Alan Jackson, said his client had a medical issue and would be unable to attend until Wednesday or later.
