Iran Reports Strike on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, As Part of Widespread Military Operations.
Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Bahrain, as the country executed operations across the region in response for a significant and continuing assault against it by the US and Israel.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity close to the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any impact is not yet known and the American officials has not commented.
Regional Interceptions
Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - said they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.
In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had successfully engaged several missiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the region.
IRGC Statement
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the strikes on the Islamic Republic carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.
That US-Israeli operation - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck areas linked to the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump urging the Iranian people to rise up against the leadership.
Wider Impacts
In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military stated it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates stated that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems responded to the missiles with notable success and shot down a several projectiles," the statement continued.
The statement noted missile fragments fell on a residential area in the capital, resulting in some property damage and the death of one civilian.
The US Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
