Football Expert Sutton Takes On Singer Olly Murs in Top Flight Predictions

Arsenal's ten-match winning streak was ended by the Black Cats before the global hiatus, however will the Premier League leaders bounce back against north London rivals Spurs this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," stated soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still manage to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, against AI, readers and a variety of guests.

For week 12, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

The singer's latest record, the new release, is out on the weekend.

Soccer and Family Experiences

Olly is a skilled soccer player as well as a accomplished artist and has been a star of several charity football matches down the years - but he is not intending a professional comeback as a player.

"{I recently played in a charity match the other evening for a mate of mine," he said. "My side was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my daughter or son chooses to play instead."

The singer and his wife his partner have a young family, Madison and their son, and he is ready to emulate his dad by becoming their manager.

"I will not force football on our children but I've previously told my wife that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be coaching their Saturday football team," he said.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a while too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I get it from. He managed our side for several years and had great fun with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to be patient for their star's comeback from fitness issues but their attack is already stronger with Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this game will be fairly close, however. The Clarets are disciplined and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.

This smells of a 1-1 tie to me, but I am actually going to choose Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

Olly's pick: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their previous couple games - although both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, West Ham secured two in a row before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.

The Hammers' only on the road victory this campaign came at Forest in the summer, when their boss Nuno Espirito Santo was still that team's manager.

So, what on earth do I go with here - can West Ham continuing their streak under Nuno, or Bournemouth responding?

I am going to go with Bournemouth, because I believe what happened against Villa was a blip.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

The guest's outlook: Bournemouth are performing strongly but West Ham have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the frontrunners for the drop before the season started, but they have impressed a several people under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three in their last four matches.

My son told me to select Bees forward Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, guess what, I didn't listen.

Thiago will probably score again on the weekend but I am still not going to select him or support Brentford at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had much fortune on the travel this season, and the Seagulls are always strong at their stadium. The visitors will attempt to hit them on the break but I feel the home manager's team carry much more of a threat.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

Olly's prediction: It could be a match where you think there is going to be a lot of scores but it actually turns out to be quite close. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive fixture for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six matches.

They have have lots of quality in their team but it still seems like they could be sucked into a relegation battle.

Regarding Sunderland, well they are the unexpected success of the top flight season so far.

Their performance in the two-all draw with the Gunners last time out was superb. We've not seen any other team rough up the North London side like that this season, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.

The logical choice would be to support the Black Cats here, because they are obviously able of roughing the hosts up too and, the last time they were in west London, they beat the Blues at the end of October.

But I am not going to choose that. Instead, I really need to carry on going against the away team with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their positive outcomes because they evidently enjoy to prove me wrong.

Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage record, the only side they have lost to is the league leaders. Their manager's team will be extremely desperate for a positive outcome, so I am going to say they will secure three points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

The guest's choice: I'm aware the visitors are performing strongly and also that the hosts are on a bad run... but they have nonetheless been decent at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough fixture to predict. Liverpool have suffered seven of their past 10 games in all competitions, but might they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
